Introducing Resilient Physical Therapy and Wellness, LLC

We are proud to introduce Resilient Physical Therapy and Wellness, LLC! Resilient Physical Therapy and Wellness was founded by Dr. Sarah Herschberger, PT, DPT with you (the patient) in mind. Due to current insurance restraints dictating how time with patients is spent in the traditional physical therapy model, Sarah wanted to find a way to maximize time spent with patients in order to reach their goals faster. By choosing to be an out-of-network facility, Resilient Physical Therapy and Wellness allows for one hour one-on-one visits with your physical therapist, every time. This time is extremely valuable and allows you to reach your goals faster! We want to spend your time doing a thorough evaluation and utilizing manual therapy techniques in combination with advanced therapeutic exercise to get you feeling your best as quickly as possible. With your diligence on being consistent with your home exercise program in combination with your physical therapy treatments, you will be able to get back to doing the things you love as quickly as possible. Your health is our priority. Meet Dr. Sarah Herschberger, PT, DPT – Owner of Resilient Physical Therapy and Wellness My passion for physical therapy began in middle school when I suffered a knee injury in a soccer match and was referred to physical therapy by my doctor. My physical therapist helped me recover quickly and got me back on the field ASAP. From then on, he was my go-to person when an injury arose. I continued to be intrigued by the field physical therapy as I continued through high school and decided to do some job shadowing hours with my physical therapist. Knowing I wanted to enter the medical profession in some way, I dabbled with the idea of medical school, nursing and physical therapy. My sports background and love of the idea of helping people get back in action for a living led me down the path of physical therapy throughout college. To me, there is nothing more rewarding than seeing patients succeed and achieve their goals. From being able to take their first steps without a walker in months to getting back to playing in time for that big game, I love helping people achieve all levels of function. The moments I’ve had patients with tears of happiness stream down their face at their accomplishments and reaching goals they never thought possible make this the most rewarding career I can imagine. I feel incredibly lucky and honored to have the ability to help people achieve these things. I continue to be an athlete myself, playing hockey and running races. You will find me in an ice rink most weekends and if I am not there, I am likely out trying to find a new trail run with my 4-legged pal Onyx.

I was given a wonderful opportunity in physical therapy school to assist with a small study on slap shot mechanics- you can see me below helping test out the equipment and set up the players for the study. The results were skewed because my slap shot proved to be the best of all of them…only kidding of course. I must admit I was so nervous having them kneeling behind me on the blue line while I calibrated the equipment that I totally missed the puck while winding up for a slap shot once…oops. It remains one of my favorite moments of my career- to be able to integrate a sport I am so passionate about into physical therapy practice.

I have also had the honor of running in the Boston Marathon in both 2013 and 2014. I ran with the Dana-Farber Marathon Challenge and you can read more about my journey here: www.twentysixpointtwoforthecure.blogspot.com. I have helped many runners recover from injuries during training, as well as performing injury prevention screens to make sure they are able to be ready for their big event whether it be a 5k or a marathon. I want to help you cross that finish line!

I would love to work with you to help reach your goals and teach you lifestyle changes to help you remain as active as possible and prevent future injury. I am thrilled to be able to better serve my patients with a one-on-one care model and help you get back to doing the things you love!
